I am back for something – Inaki Williams after scoring against Barcelona

Ghana international Inaki Williams was outstanding in Athletic Bilbao’s Copa Del Rey game against Barcelona on Wednesday evening.

Inaki Williams returned to action after Ghana’s early exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. He left Ivory Coast in a private jet provided by his club and touched down in the morning ahead of the encounter.

He came on in the 59th minute to replace Malcolm Ares as Bilbao searched for a lead in the intense encounter at the San Mamés Barria.

In extra time, Inaki Williams capitalized on a loose ball; his shot hit the post, but the rebound dropped to him again, and he scored to make it 3-2. He also assisted his brother Nico’s 120+1 strike to extend the lead to 4-2. Guruzeta and Sancet scored the other two goals for Bilbao. Yamal and Lewandowski netted for Barcelona.

After the final whistle walking shirtless, he looked into the cameras at the San Mames and said “I’m back for something!”.

Athletic Bilbao will turn its attention to their league game against Cadiz on 28th January.
