HSV striker Ransford Konigsdorffer donates his jersey after scoring in DFB Cup

Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer scored his first two goals for HSV in their DFB Cup game against SpVgg Bayreuth. He did not, however, take his jersey home with him as a souvenir.

Speaking after the game to HSV media the Ghanaian attacker revealed that he has donated his jersey to a children’s foundation.

“I actually wanted to keep the jersey,” he said after the game.

“But it is now being donated to a children’s foundation in Bayreuth. So of course I was happy to hand it over,” he added.

On 28 June 2022, it was announced that Konigsdorffer had signed for Bundesliga 2 club Hamburger SV on a four-year contract for a fee of €1.2 million from Dynamo Dresden.

Konigsdorffer made 30 league appearances for Dynamo Dresden during the 2021/22 season, scoring 5 goals, as the club finished 16th before losing to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the relegation playoff.
