Hope for Real Madrid? Mbappe’s mother responds to claims of PSG agreement

Hope for Real Madrid? Kylian Mbappe’s mother responds to claims of €200m PSG agreement

Word stemming from the French media on Thursday points towards a major turning point in the future of Kylian Mbappe.

Attacking sensation Mbappe, of course, has long been expected to call time on his stint with Paris Saint-Germain this summer, to link up with La Liga champions Real Madrid as part of a big-money free agent agreement.

Such a move would see the Frenchman join forces with fellow countryman Karim Benzema, and Blancos wing wizard Vinicius Junior, to form potentially the most lethal front-three in world football.

Late on Thursday, however, those in a position of power at PSG are understood to have thrown a spanner in the works of such plans…

As per a report from Le Parisien, regarded as reliable when it comes to all things PSG, Mbappe is mere formalities away from agreeing to a short-term contract extension at the Parc des Princes.

This comes after the board in the French capital committed to the terms of a frankly eye-watering financial agreement.

Mbappe, it is understood, is primed to put pen to paper on a contract worth €50 million-per-year net, followed by the option for a further year. Not only that, but the 23-year-old will also take home a €100 million signing bonus as part of the deal.

*Update* – Mbappe’s mother has since moved to firmly deny the existence of any such agreement between her son and PSG.

City sent packing

Rumours pointing towards Mbappe opting to stay put in Paris of course round out what has proven something a chaotic 24 hours at Real Madrid.

This comes with Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, late on Wednesday night, having completed yet another remarkable turnaround on the continent, to book their spot in the finale of the Champions League.

Trailing Manchester City by two goals as proceedings rolled into injury time in the 2nd leg of the semi-final tie between the clubs, Los Blancos broke City hearts courtesy of a last-gasp Rodrygo double, before Karim Benzema’s extra-time spot-kick proved enough to clinch yet another showpiece berth for the Spanish heavyweights later this month.
