Ghanaian winger Henry Addo has completed his move from Israeli champions Maccabi Tel Aviv to Portuguese second-tier club C.D. Tondela during the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old has signed a two-year contract with Tondela, keeping him at the club until June 2028. He will wear the number 10 shirt for the Portuguese side, known as the Gold and Greens.
Addo moves to Portugal after building experience across several European leagues. Before joining C.D. Tondela, the winger played in Slovakia, Israel and Serbia, continuing his development through regular exposure to different footballing environments.
He spent the 2025/26 season on loan with Serbian club OFK Belgrade. During that spell, Addo made 16 appearances and scored two goals.
The transfer gives the Ghanaian a fresh opportunity to establish himself in Portuguese football, with C.D. Tondela set to benefit from his pace and attacking ability. The winger will now begin the next stage of his career in the Portuguese second tier.
Addo started his football journey with Ebony FC before moving to MSK Zilina Africa. His performances there helped him secure the chance to continue his career abroad and eventually led to opportunities in European football.
He was also a member of the Kumasi High School team that won the Ashanti Regional inter-school soccer championship in 2020.
His career has since taken him beyond Ghana, with spells in Slovakia, Israel and Serbia preceding his latest move. Addo’s time at Maccabi Tel Aviv included being part of the squad of the Israeli champions before he joined OFK Belgrade on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.
Now contracted to C.D. Tondela until June 2028, Addo will aim to make an immediate impression in Portugal. The club will hope his speed, creativity and attacking qualities can strengthen their team as he takes on his latest challenge in European football.
