Hearts of Oak to officially respond to GFA charges

Hearts of Oak say they will formally react to the Ghana Football Association’s disciplinary charges following their 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko in Accra last Sunday.

The match, decided by Morifing Donzo’s well-taken first-half penalty, ended the Phobians’ unbeaten streak in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.

After the game, tensions flared, leading to reports of misconduct.

Defender Hussein Mohammed has been accused of assaulting match officials, while the club faces sanctions for allegedly failing to control its fans during the Super Clash.

Speaking on Asempa FM, the club’s Communications Director, Kwame Opare Addo, confirmed that Hearts are carefully reviewing the GFA’s notice before issuing a response.

“We will look at the charge and respond appropriately,” he said.

“If apology is part of the response, so shall it be,” Opare Addo added.

The Phobians, who now sitting sixth on the league table with 16 points, will turn their attention to their next fixture against Swedru All Blacks at the Swedru Sports Stadium this weekend.
