Accra Hearts of Oak have parted ways with right-back Michael Ampadu after deciding not to renew his contract, which expires this month.
Ampadu joined the Phobians two seasons ago and made several appearances for the club, showcasing his work rate and defensive skills.
However, he is not part of the club’s plans for the 2025/26 season.
According to sources, Hearts of Oak are undertaking a major squad overhaul to rebuild for next season, and Ampadu is among the players deemed surplus to requirements.
The 26-year-old is now a free agent and is expected to consider his options ahead of the new season.
Ampadu’s departure marks the end of his two-year stint with the Phobians, and he will look to find a new challenge in the football world.
