Hearts of Oak’s head coach, Martin Koopman, has drawn a striking comparison between young striker Hamza Issah and the legendary Brazilian footballer Romario.
The talented teenager showcased his potential by finding the back of the net during Hearts of Oak’s 3-1 victory against Medeama SC on matchday eight at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After the game, Koopman couldn’t help but praise Hamza Issah’s qualities. He acknowledged that Issah faced a health issue during the match, noting, “It was a pity that Hamza Issah was sick at half time and so he had a little problem with his stomach and got to the toilet.”
However, despite the setback, Koopman highlighted the unique attributes that make Issah stand out.
He went on to say, “But you see the qualities of Hamza, he has something from Romario, low on the ground, turns very fast, I like him very much.”
The Dutch trainer’s admiration for Hamza Issah’s style of play and agility, reminiscent of the iconic Romario, underscores the young striker’s potential and promise on the field.
Following this impressive performance, Hearts of Oak improved their position to 13th in the league standings, amassing 9 points from 7 games.
