Tottenham striker Harry Kane has stated that his on-pitch connection with striking partner Son Heung-min has improved as a result of their off-pitch camaraderie.
Kane suffered a dreadful start to the season, scoring just once in his first 13 Premier League appearances.
He has since rediscovered his form in 2022, establishing a fearsome attacking three alongside Son and January addition Dejan Kulusevski.
Kane and Son each smashed the Premier League’s all-time scoring record earlier this season, with the other providing an assist. The England captain discussed his particular friendship with the South Korean with Canal+ and was questioned if his wife is envious.
“Maybe. She hasn’t said anything but I’m sure she could be. I probably spend more time with Son than I do with my wife at the moment, to be honest. But yeah we have a great relationship off the pitch and obviously, I think that shows on the pitch as well,” Kane admitted.
These remarks came only days before Tottenham’s heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Brighton on Saturday, denying Antonio Conte’s side the opportunity to go six points ahead of their top-four opponents.
However, they still have a chance to qualify for the Champions League. They return to play next week when they travel to in-form Brentford.
