Hamza Issah scores brace as Hearts of Oak humble Real Tamale United in Accra

Accra Hearts of Oak scored three goals in either half to down Real Tamale United 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Forward Hamzah Issah continued his fine form with a first half brace before Enock Asubonteng put the icing on the cake in the second half.

Issah opened the scoring in the 18th minute as he beautifully controlled a goal bound effort on his chest before smashing home. He completed his brace after heading home a cross from Salifu Ibrahim on 40 minutes.

Back from recess, Enoch Asubonteng fired home inside 70 minutes to put the game beyond Real Tamale United as the Phobians made life difficult for the Tamale lads. The win takes Hearts of Oak to the 9th spot on the league log with 24 points as RTU drops to the bottom of the table with 17 points.

Elsewhere at Bechem, Nsoatreman FC recorded a 1-0 win over Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Stephen Diyou’s second half strike was the game changer for the visitors as they completed the double over the Hunters having beaten them in the first round of the campaign.  Diyuo scored the only goal of the match inside 77 minutes to secure all three points for Nsoatreman FC.

In Nalerigu, Samuel Tenedu received a red card as Legon Cities crashed to a 2-0 loss to Karela United. After a barren first half, Abubakar Damba’s side lifted their game and score the opener through Solomon Aboagye 48th minute after he latched on to a melee to slot home. Abdul Mohammed added the second goal, six minutes from time as he scored a fine goal inside 84 minutes to give the host a 2-0 win.

Bibiani Gold Stars came from behind to beat Berekum Chelsea 3-1 at DUN’S Park thanks to goals from Prince Owusu, Appiah McCarthy and Frank Amankwaah. Mezack Afriyie scored the opening goal for Berekum Chelsea inside 10 minutes but Gold Stars replied three minutes later through Prince Owusu. Both sides cancelled out each other as the first half ended 1-1. Back from the break, Appiah McCarthy netted in the 70th minute to give Coach Frimpong Manso’s side a well deserved lead  before Frank Amankwaah added the third goal in the 74th minute.
