Haminu Dramani picks goal against USA as favourite World Cup moment

Former Ghana winger, Haminu Dramani says the goal he scored against the United States of America (USA) is his greatest World Cup moment.

That goal – at Germany 2006 – is in the record books as the Black Stars’ first in the history of the competition.

Stephen Appiah scored a penalty to restore the lead shortly after Clint Dempsey had equalized for the Americans.

The 2-1 victory at Nuremberg’s Franken Stadium left great memories in the minds of Ghanaian football fans.

Speaking to 3Sports, Haminu Dramani revealed then star midfielder Michael told him he had scored the historic goal.

“Of course, my goal against USA is my favorite World Cup moment.

“I remember right after the game, Essien was telling me ‘hey this your goal is going to be there forever’.

“So I remember all those things. It was an amazing feeling,” he stated.

Ghana went past the group stages of the 2006 World Cup before they got knocked out by Brazil.
