Griezmann’s big decision for his future, Simeone concerned

Going back to see your former love is sometimes not all good. Dazzling with Atlético Madrid between 2014 and 2019, Antoine Griezmann had decided to try the FC Barcelona bet, without much success. After two complicated years, the French international has returned to the Colchoneros, in the form of a two-year loan with an almost compulsory purchase option. But so far that second marriage hasn’t really caught on, with his last La Liga goal with Madrid now dating back to November 2021. Worse still, this summer his name was announced on departure following the mad rumored Cristiano Ronaldo, in particular to lighten the club’s payroll and make room for the Portuguese.

Griezmann wants to stay

But today, the daily brand takes stock of his future, being visibly very clear: Antoine Griezmann will not leave Atlético Madrid this summer. The main interested party has no intention of leaving and intends to climb the slope this season. Moreover, he is considered an indisputable starter for his coach, Diego Simeone. At 31 (he will turn 32 in March), he begins a crucial season in his career, with the World Cup to be played with the Blues next November, and the desire to prove to Madrid fans that he is still capable to perform under the Matelassiers jersey.
