Basake Holy Stars will be desperate to end their winless run when they welcome defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars to the AAK II Arena on Sunday in a Western Derby clash.
The Aiyinase-based side have endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign, sitting bottom of the table with just two points from seven matches.
They are one of the few sides yet to record a victory this season, having drawn twice and lost five times.
Their home form offers little encouragement either, with one draw and one defeat from two games at the AAK II Arena.
Bibiani Gold Stars, on the other hand, are in strong form and will look to continue their unbeaten streak.
The Miners bounced back from their draw with Hearts of Oak by edging Young Apostles 1–0 last weekend, stretching their run to four matches without defeat.
They currently occupy fourth position with 16 points, just two adrift of the league leaders.
Sunday’s meeting carries extra spice, not only as a regional rivalry but also as a clash of contrasting ambitions: Basake Holy Stars fighting to stay afloat, and Gold Stars determined to close the gap at the top.
