Golden Kick coach Nii Parker Hanson has expressed frustration over the controversial penalty that handed Asante Kotoko a 2-1 win in the 2025 MTN FA Cup final.
With the game tied at 1-1 and heading into its final minutes, referee Selorm Yao Bless awarded Kotoko a late penalty.
The decision followed an incident where Kwame Opoku went down as Golden Kick’s goalkeeper came out to collect the ball.
Opoku stepped up and converted the spot-kick, sealing the victory for Kotoko at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Earlier, Opoku had opened the scoring before Bless Ege’s stunning free-kick equalized for Golden Kick.
“It was not a penalty for me,” Hanson told JoySports.
“The referee decided. I don’t know what kept him [referee] long, who prompted him [referee] that it was a penalty.
“If somebody prompted him, then on what grounds? We came to here determined to win the game and make history but referee decided.”
