Ghana’s Joselpho Barnes assists in St. Truiden’s draw against Standard Liege

Ghanaian midfielder Joselpho Barnes made an impact as he grabbed an assist in St. Truiden’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Standard Liege in the Belgian First Division A Playoff ECL.

Joselpho Barnes entered the game in the 83rd minute, replacing Bruno Godeau, and wasted no time in making his presence felt on the field.

The match saw an intense exchange of goals, with Eric-Junior Bocat opening the scoring for St. Truiden in the 3rd minute, only for Wilfried Kanga to equalize for Standard Liege just six minutes later.

Standard Liege took the lead in the 59th minute through William Balikwisha, but St. Truiden fought back valiantly, with Joselpho Barnes assisting winger Adriano Bertaccini’s 84th-minute equalizer.

Barnes’ contribution added to the excitement of the encounter, which ended with both teams sharing the points. The draw maintained St. Truiden’s solid head-to-head record against Standard Liege, with 11 wins, 9 draws, and 5 losses before the game.
