Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Twumasi has completed a move to Polish Ekstraklasa club Piast Gliwice, signing a two-year deal ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 28-year-old, who has been without a club since parting ways with Major League Soccer outfit FC Dallas in January, becomes Piast’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
Twumasi spent several years in the MLS, where he established himself as a dependable full-back for Dallas.
He joins a Gliwice side looking to improve on their 10th-place finish from last season.
The club is undergoing a rebuild under newly appointed head coach Max Moelder, a 40-year-old Swede who replaced Serbian manager Aleksandar Vukovic after his 2.5-year stint.
Twumasi’s signing follows that of French midfielder Quentin Boisgard from Apollon Limassol and Spanish striker Adrian Dalmau from Korona Kielce, as the club looks to bolster its squad after releasing 12 players in June.
With fresh leadership on the bench and experienced new arrivals like Twumasi, Piast will be hoping to push further up the league standings this season.
