Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Henry Asante Twum has stated that the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram is currently unfit to host Black Stars training sessions.
Despite investments in the facility, including six new boreholes, the pitches are not in good condition.
“At the moment, no, because the pitches are not in good condition,” he told JoyNews.
“The pitches in question were constructed years ago. When we decided to make the borehole project available in Prampram, it was to try and see if we could get those pitches back in a condition where it would be useful enough.”
Meanwhile, Ghana is now struggling to present an approved venue for CAF competitions after the Baba Yara Stadium’s license was withdrawn for “an unsuitable playing field.”
The Black Stars could end up playing outside the country in their next encounter against Sudan in October’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
