Some Ghanaians who have been sent to Ivory Coast to support the Black Stars have accused the government of neglect.

According to many of them, they have been left to their faith since arriving in Ivory Coast to provide support for the national team at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Speaking to Citi News as monitored by footballghana on Monday evening, one of the Ghanaian supporters, Daniel Akpaloo said they are going through hell.

He said the affected Ghanaians can no longer cope with the hardships in Ivory Coast and demands that the government busses them back to Ghana.

“We don’t want to die here. They should come and take us home,” he said.

Daniel Akpaloo further indicated that if things change and government pays them their daily allowances, they are happy to stay to continue cheering the Black Stars.

“If things are put in place we will want to be here to support the Black Stars,” he added.

A man who identified himself as David, another Ghanaian among the people bussed to Ivory Coast by government to support the Black Stars said he believes there is a deliberate agenda to punish them.

He said some of them including women have not eaten or bathed in the past three days.

They are calling on the government to as a matter of urgency pay them their per diems so they can get food to eat and prepare to support the Black Stars on Thursday in the game against Egypt.
