Ghanaian international, Samuel Ofori has been recognised for his outstanding displays and named the best foreign player in Tajikistan.
The player was selected for the top award after helping his side, FC Ravshan Kulob to make history to qualify for the AFC Cup.
Samuel Ofori, 23, featured in 20 league games for Kulob in the 2022 Vysshaya League campaign, missing the other two only through suspension for accumulated yellow cards.
At the end of the season, the defender was key for his club in defense to steer the side to a runner-up finish in the Tajikistan league.
After assessing about 70 foreign players, Samuel Ofori has been named the best in the Tajik league in 2022.
He picked the accolade ahead of some other good players from other parts of the world including Glib Grachov of Ukraine, Gonzalo Ritacco of Argentina, Kosmynin of Belarus, Samandor Ochilov of Uzbekistan, Sergey Garanzha of Russia, Tony Bikital of Cameroon, and Innocent Kouassi of Ivory Coast.
Reacting to winning the award, Ghanaian youngster Samuel Ofori said he is elated and will continue working hard.
“I feel great because I worked really hard for this and it makes me so happy to be recognised considering the many good foreign players in the league. Hard work pays so I’m going to work even harder to achieve my dreams,” he said.
