Ghanaian striker Kwabena Owusu rated his season performance a nine out of 10 after scoring 10 goals across all competitions.
Owusu, 24, was on loan at MKE Ankaragucu, where he scored seven league goals and three in the Turkish Cup. He also had four assists for the second-tier team.
His goal contributions were important in the club’s promotion to the Süper Lig.
“I will rate myself 9/10 because it is not easy for an African player to score goals abroad. Even Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah struggle before they score,” he told Accra-based Original FM
“It is not easy for Ghanaian players abroad to score; it is something that I have noticed. Harry Kane will get a chance and score but I don’t understand why we struggle to take our chances in games. I think the whites learn more than us.”
Owusu is expected to return to parent club Qarabag, where he has one year left on his contract. However, Ankaragucu may make a permanent move for him.
Owusu has made three appearances for the Black Stars since his debut in 2019.
He was a member of the Black Stars squad that competed in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
