Ghanaian striker Eddie Nketiah scored a brace to inspire Arsenal to an impressive 4-2 victory over London rivals Chelsea on Wednesday.

The win ends a run of three successive Premier League defeats for the Gunners and boosts their hopes of finishing in the top four at the end of the season.

Nketiah, who in a recent interview said he was open to switching from England to play for Ghana, scored at the start of each half of the pulsating clash.

Emile Smith Rowe was also on target as Arsenal twice led in the first half only for Timo Werner and Cesar Azpilicueta to level soon after for Chelsea.

Bukayo Saka put the seal on the victory with a penalty in added time after he had been brought down by Azpilicueta.

Arsenal stay fifth despite the win but are now level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham while Chelsea are five points better off in third.

Nketiah has now scored seven goals this season for Arsenal this season.

Following Black Stars’ qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ghana Football Association are far advanced in their move to capture the youngster from England as talks have been held already with the family of the player over the switch.

The 22-year-old’s Ghanaian team-mate Thomas Partey has also piled the pressure on the youngster who now is keen to make the move to play for the Black Stars.

‘Of course, it is a possibility. I’m open to both, playing for Ghana and playing for England as well,” Nketiah told  The Beautiful Game podcast when asked about the move to play for the Black Stars.

“It’s always good to have the opportunity to potentially do that,” the youngster added.
