Ghanaian striker Adjei-Boateng scores debut UEFA Champions League play-off goal

Bismark Adjei-Boateng was on the scoresheet for Romanian side CFR Cluj in their 2-2 draw against Armenian-based Pyunik on Tuesday.

The Ghanaian forward scored the opener of the game in the 6th minute to give his side the lead after a goalless draw in the first leg.

Pyunik levelled the scoreline with a late equaliser in the 89th minute as the game finished 1-1 in regulation time.

The host regained the advantage through Claudio Petrila but the visitors were not ready to give up.

The Armenian side got a late goal and levelled the match in the stoppage time to make it 2-2 after 120 minutes of action before heading to penalty shootouts.

CFR Cluj lost 4-3 on penalties and failed to progress to the next round of the UEFA Champions League qualifying stage.
