Ghanaian Godberg Barry Cooper nets debut goal for FK Tobol in win over Yelimay Semay in Kazakhstan

Ghanaian forward Godberg Barry Cooper delivered an outstanding performance on his debut for FK Tobol Kostanay in the Kazakhstani Premier League.

Cooper, who joined the club in the last day of the Kazakhstani transfer window registered his name on the scoresheet in his first competitive game to help his side secure victory against Yelimay Semay

The forward was instrumental in his outfit 4-2 comeback win over their opponent in day two of the Kazakhstani top-flight played at the Centranyl Stadion in Kostanay.

Cameroonian Robert Tambe opened the scoring for the visitors, just two minutes into the game.

But the home team scored twice in a space of four minutes to overturn the scoreline before halftime break.

Igor Ivanovic and Yevgeniy Shakhov found the back of the net in the 26th and 30th minute marks respectively to put FK Tobol in front.

Brazilian attacker China dos Santos levelled matters for the visitors from the spot in the 53rd minute.

But the Italian-born Ghanaian hit the back of the net to restore Tobol’s lead in the game in the 72nd minute before before Erkin Tapalov sealed the win in stoppage-time.

Cooper has a goal after two games for Tobol. He was involved when the club won the Kazakhstani Super Cup last week.
