Ghanaian forward Ransford Königsdörffer joins HSV

Ghanaian defender, Ransford Königsdörffer has signed a four-year contract with Hamburg SV (HSV) from Dynamo Dresden.

The 20-year-old is expected to wear shirt number 11 at his new club.

Königsdörffer has already arrived at the HSV training camp in Styria and has began training with his new teammates.

“We are very pleased that with Ransford we were able to convince another young, promising player from HSV and our path. He is a fast, technically very well-trained player who can be used flexibly on offense and was last nominated for the U21 national team for a good reason,” says board member Jonas Boldt about the transfer.

Ransford also said, “Right from the start, those responsible placed a great deal of trust in me and I am very happy that the change has now been finalized. Now it’s time to get to know everything. I’m looking forward to the new challenge, the team and the way we want to play football. Here at the training camp, I want to get fully involved from day one,”.

Königsdörffer, who has Ghanaian roots, made his debut for the German U21 national team in September last year  against San Marino. The right-footed player had previously made two appearances for the DFB U20 national team.
