Ghana, Zambia share 12-goal futsal thriller

Ghana and Zambia played out a dramatic 6-6 draw in the opening leg of their AFCON Futsal qualifier.

The Black Stallions made a bright start, scoring first from a set piece before Zambia quickly hit back.

Ghana regained the advantage soon after, but once again allowed the visitors to pull level in a breathless opening period.

After the interval, the hosts added another goal, only for Zambia to respond almost immediately.

The rhythm of the game remained unpredictable as Ghana stretched the lead to two.

Zambia refused to go away and wiped out that cushion within a frantic ten-minute spell.

Ghana surged forward late on and looked in control when they moved 6-4 ahead.

The Zambians showed resilience, netting two rapid goals to bring the contest back to even terms.

The high-scoring draw means neither side holds an advantage going into the return fixture.

Both teams meet again in Lusaka on Friday, with the aggregate winner booking a place at the 2026 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations.
