Ghana Premier League

Karela United head coach, Abukari Damba, believes their 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko on Saturday in match week 20 of the Ghana Premier League will inspire them to work harder for more.

Ibrahim Giyasi netted the sole goal, securing three points for the Pride and Passion team at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex in Nalerigu.

Speaking after the game, the former Ghana international admitted that beating the record Ghana Premier League winners is significant for the club.

“The higher you go, the more difficult it becomes. This victory is for today. It is gone, it will not come any other day,” Abukari Damba.

“So we need to keep working towards more victories and I think we will put this behind us but then, it’s a motivating factor you can’t take that away from anybody, beating Kotoko is a huge thing to do and I think we are very elated.”

Despite the win, Karela United are still 15th with 20 points.
