Bibiani Gold Stars defeated Hearts of Oak 1-0 to move to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings.

The first half ended goalless, with both teams creating dangerous chances but unable to break the deadlock.

Gold Stars came out strong after the break, mounting pressure and keeping Hearts’ goalkeeper Benjamin Asare busy with crucial saves.

Samuel Attah Kumi finally broke through in the 69th minute, scoring to secure all three points for the visitors.

Hearts of Oak had a chance to equalize when referee Selorm Yao Bless awarded them a penalty, but goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi made a critical save to keep Gold Stars’ lead intact.

Gold Stars now lead the table with 18 points after eight games and will face Dreams FC at Duns Park in Bibiani next week.

Hearts of Oak, meanwhile, have dropped to 12th place with nine points and will travel to Tarkwa to take on Medeama SC in their next match.
