Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru scores for RSC Anderlecht on opening weekend of Belgian league

Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has started off the new football season in Belgium with a bang.

The former WAFA SC poster boy was a starter for RSC Anderlecht on Sunday when the team played the first match of the 2022/23 Belgian Jupiler Pro League football season.

In a game against Oostende, Majeed Ashimeru played in midfield and put in a good shift that helped his team to cruise to a delightful 2-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

On the matchday, Majeed Ashimeru scored in the 38tu minutes of the first half to give RSC Anderlecht the lead.

With Fabio Silva also getting on the scoresheet for the home team in the 88th minute, the hosts secured a 2-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

After his opening day equalizer, Majeed Ashimeru will hope to do well in the coming months to be in the good books of the technical handlers of the Black Stars to merit a place in the Ghana team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
