Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is likely to be ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injury.
The former Salzburg midfielder was involved in Anderlecht’s Cup final game against Gent which they lost on penalties.
The 24-year-old had to play through the pain barrier despite not fit for the game.
Anderlecht coach Vincent Kompany has confirmed the Ghana international may not be able to play again for his side for the remainder of the season.
“I can already tell you that he will not be there and that we will even see if he is able to play during the Playoffs”, Vincent Kompany gave an update on the injury of the Ghanaian ahead of the game against Club Brugge
“It’s not an injury that will last in the long term. But in the short term, I don’t know if he can perform well in the coming weeks.”
Majeed Ashimeru has made 31 appearances for Anderlecht this season, scoring three goals and three assists.
