Black Satellites head coach Maxwell Konadu has made three changes to his starting line-up for Ghana’s decisive Group B match against Togo at the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship.
Ghana must win at the Charles Konan Banny (CKB) Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire, to keep their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive and finish the group stage with the result they need.
Richard Serebuor Otuo remains in goal, while Emmanuel Konadu Agyemang comes into the defence to replace the suspended Kofi Junior Kumah.
Emmanuel Konadu Agyemang will line up alongside Barhama Issah and Humaid Fuseini in the backline, with captain Kelvin Nkrumah again leading the side.
Osafo Antwi, Mohammed Zaidan, Daniel Alabi and Joseph Badu also retain their places after starting Ghana’s spirited draw against Burkina Faso.
Konadu has made two further adjustments in attack. Wunzalgu Abdul Latif and Samuel Ashawa have been promoted to the starting XI, replacing Benjamin Tsivanyo and David Keke Anane.
The changes reflect Ghana’s need for greater attacking impetus in their final group fixture, with the Black Satellites facing a straightforward requirement to collect all three points.
Victory alone, however, may not be enough to secure progress. Ghana must also hope defending champions Nigeria beat Burkina Faso by a sufficiently wide margin to give the Black Satellites the advantage on goal difference.
The permutations leave Ghana dependent on both their own performance and the result of the other Group B match. Their immediate task is to overcome Togo, before the final standings can be settled.
Despite the pressure surrounding the fixture, the tournament has offered Konadu and his technical team an important competitive test of their squad. The coaching staff have been able to assess the players in a tournament environment, improve team cohesion and continue preparations for the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana have already qualified automatically for that competition as hosts, meaning the WAFU B U-20 Championship also serves as part of their longer-term preparations.
The Black Satellites will begin against Togo with Otuo behind a defensive unit of Emmanuel Konadu Agyemang, Barhama Issah, Humaid Fuseini and Osafo Antwi.
