Ghana forward Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is a doubt for St Pauli’s Bundesliga II match against Sandhausen this weekend due to an injury.
Kyereh has not been seen in training this week due to the injury and is expected to miss Saturday’s game.
Ghanasoccernet.com understands Kyereh suffered the injury during last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen.
Kyereh scored a fantastic goal in that game, bringing his season total to 12 goals across all competitions.
Timo Schultz, manager of St Pauli, is concerned that Kyereh’s absence could jeopardize his team’s chances of defeating Sandhausen.
St Pauli are currently in the promotion playoff spot, and with only one point ahead of the club behind them, Darmstadt, they cannot afford to drop points.
A win could propel St Pauli to first or second place, both of which are direct promotion spots to the Bundesliga.
Kyereh is arguably their most important player, having come to the club’s rescue numerous times this season.
Aside from the goals, the Black Stars player has an impressive 11 assists, for a total of 23 goal contributions.
