Ghana fans vote Denis Odoi as MVP in resounding victory over Madagascar’s Barea —

Ghana fans have been left overly impressed with the performance of Denis Odoi in the Black Stars’ 3-0 victory over Madagascar in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Odoi, 34, was by far the most outstanding player with AS Roma starlet Felix Afena-Gyan the only player to come a bit closer to him in terms of performance.

Kudus Mohammed, Felix Afena-Gyan and substitute Osman Bukari got the goals as the Black Stars opened their qualification campaign to the 2023 AFCON with a resounding victory.

The ex-Fulham defender left no stone unturned as he swept the backline with command and finesse – constructing Ghana’s opening goal inside the 53rd minute.

Playing before the home crowd for just the second time, the right-back was largely efficient in a 3-back defensive system that was aimed at ultimately multiplying Ghana’s numbers in the Madagascar area.

With Afena-Gyan scoring and assisting for the Stars, the UEFA Europa Conference League winner was supposed to dominate the talking point but rather it is the experienced defender who has hogged the headlines with his scintillating display.

He was rated 8/10 by for his performance in the game.
