Ghana end six match winless run – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Ghana’s Black Stars have ended a poor run in 2022 with a huge win over Madagascar in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars thrashed Madagascar to halt a six game run without victory.

The four times African champions had a disastrous Africa Cup of Nations, losing to Morocco and Comoros before drawing with Gabon. The team also drew home and away against the Super Eagles of Nigeria despite qualifying for the World Cup.

Before the Nations Cup, Ghana were whitewashed by Algeria.

However, the run ended last night in the opening game of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Two quick fire goals from Mohammed Kudus and Felix Afena-Gyan and a late strike from Osman Bukari gave the Black Stars a comfortable win in their opening 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Kudus broke the game’s deadlock nine minutes after the break after steering home a low cross from Afena-Gyan and two minutes later the AS Roma star netted his debut with a flick after meeting a Gideon Mensah cross.

Osman Bukari, a second half substitute then sealed victory with five minutes remaining after evading the Madagascar defenders before taking on the goalkeeper and cooly slotting home.
