Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey featured for Brighton in their 2-1 win over Reading in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Lamptey, who lasted for 45 minutes put up an impressive display as helped his side cruise to a victory at the Select Car Leasing stadium.
A second-half Yakou Meite penalty was not enough to overcome goals from Pascal Gross and Solly March either side of half-time.
The Royals grew into the game after initially struggling to interrupt the visitors’ possession-based style.
Gross broke the deadlock with a close-range header in the 19th minute, finishing off a move that also involved March and Tariq Lamptey. The lead was then doubled two minutes after the restart when March drilled home a fine low effort from 20 yards out.
Albion seemed to be cruising but on 58 minutes they gifted Reading a goal when Mac Allister bundled over Meite in the box after Tom Ince had intercepted Sanchez’s poor pass out. Meite made no mistake from the spot, sending Sanchez the wrong way.
