Ghana defender Ismail Abdul-Ganiyu signs year-long deal with Talaba Sports Club in Iraq

Ghana international, Ismail Abdul-Ganiyu is set to spend at least the next year of his football career in Iraq.

The highly-rated defender left Asante Kotoko at the end of the 2022/23 football season.

That season, he was a key man at the back for the Porcupine Warriors and helped the club to emerge as Champions of the Ghana Premier League.

After several weeks of uncertain future with regards to his next destination, Ismail Abdul-Ganiyu has today sealed a move to sign for Talaba Sports Club in Iraq.

The defender has inked a one-year contract with the Iraqi club and will be playing a key role for the team.

According to information gathered, the contract signed by the towering defender includes a clause that could see him  sign a one-year extension when the initial deal expires.
