Ghana captain Andre Ayew made a strong return to the French Ligue 1 after scoring a brace to snatch a draw for Le Havre against Lorient on Sunday.
Ayew bounced back from a disappointing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars, playing a crucial role to help his outfit secure an important away point on Sunday afternoon.
The experienced Ghana skipper made substitute appearances as his outfit played out a 3-3 draw against Lorient at the Stade du Moustoir – Yves Allainmat.
The former Swansea and Nottingham Forest star was introduced in the 70th minute mark and made a good account of himself by scoring twice in the dyeing embers of the game to earn a point for Le Havre.
The visitors opened the scoring after just 15 minutes into the game through Emmanuel Sabbi, who scored from the spot before Imran Louz leveled pegging for Lorient. Both teams went to recess with a goal apiece.
Lorient doubled their advantage in the second half through Ayman Kari after hitting the back of the net in the 51st minute mark before André Ayew restored parity in the 85th minute for his side.
The host appears to have snatch victory after Mohamed Bamba found the back of the net in the 92nd minute but the Ghana international stepped up once again to level pegging in the 94th minute to snatch a draw for the visitors.
Ayew has made four appearances for Le Havre since joining the club as a free agent in the November 2023.
Meanwhile, Ayew made two appearnces for the Black Stars at the ongoing Cup of Nations, where Ghana bowed out at group stage after failing to beat Mozambique in the final group game.
