Ghana and Reading defender Andy Yiadom faces spell on sidelines

Reading are set to be without captain Andy Yiadom for some weeks due to injury, having missed their clash with fellow Sky Bet Championship high-flyers Norwich on Tuesday night.

The Ghana defender was forced off with a calf injury in last Saturday’s win over Huddersfield, leaving manager Paul Ince fearing a spell on the sidelines.

Yiadom compatriot Abdul Baba Rahman has also been ruled out for a month with a hamstring.

“This is an opportunity for him. We’ll be missing Baba for a month and this is an opportunity for him to cement his place,” Paul Ince said as quoted by the club’s website.

Yiadom has been consistent performers for Reading this season, making 11 appearances across all competitions.

Reading are third on the Championship log with 22 points after drawing 1-1 with Norwich City on match week 12 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium
