Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has admitted that the association owes Black Stars coach Otto Addo four months’ worth of unpaid salaries.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Asante Twum confirmed the arrears and revealed that the GFA is in discussions with the Sports Ministry to resolve the issue.

“It is true that we owe Otto Addo. The last time I checked with the Sports Ministry, there were salaries in arrears which is not new,” Asante Twum said.

“We owe Otto Addo four months’ salary arrears. We have had a series of meetings with the Sports Ministry about the outstanding payment and Otto Addo himself is aware of how difficult it is to get the monies from government but we are still working on it.”

The future of Otto Addo as Black Stars coach remains uncertain after Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association is deliberating on whether to retain or dismiss him.
