Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku, has urged the Black Princesses to surpass their previous performances and make a lasting impact in the upcoming Women’s U20 World Cup.
Speaking at a press briefing in Sunyani, President Okraku emphasized the importance of improvement, referencing the team’s disappointing record of failing to advance beyond the group stage in the last six editions.
The Black Princesses, set for their seventh consecutive World Cup appearance, will face a challenging Group E, which includes Austria, New Zealand, and tournament favorites Japan.
“On the sixth consecutive times that we’ve been to the World Cup, we’ve not gone beyond the group stages.
“This year, the vision is very clear, we’re going to the competition and we must better our performances,” he said.
“We’ve given the team all the support that they need, we believe they are a good team, we believe that the technical team are well on course to deliver” he added.
The team is currently in camp in Cape Coast, preparing for the tournament’s kickoff on August 31, 2024.
