The Executive Council Member of Ghana Football Association (GFA), Randy Abbey has confirmed their decision to stick with Otto Addo as the head coach of the Black Stars, despite the team’s recent struggles.
This decision comes after Ghana failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 21 years, finishing bottom of their group without a single win.
According to Randy Abbey, the GFA is opting for continuity, hoping that Addo can turn things around.
“I think the GFA has taken the decision already,” Abbey disclosed during an interview on Original FM.
“The GFA is keeping Otto Addo. Immediately, it’s about the World Cup qualifiers that start in March.”
Reports in the media indicate GFA plans to replace assistant coaches Joseph Laumann and John Paintsil with expatriates.
The four times African Champions have World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in March.
