GFA ExCo member advises Asamoah Gyan how to get Black Stars invite ahead of World Cup –

Ghana FA Executive Council Member Randy Abbey has urged Asamoah Gyan to sign for a Ghana Premier League (GPL) club to prove that he deserves to go to the World Cup.

Gyan, who is Ghana’s all-time top scorer, has expressed his desire to play for the Black Stars at the upcoming FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar.

In an interview with the BBC’s John Bennett, Gyan admitted he is not fully fit at the moment and is working hard to be in good shape.

His wish to play at the 2022 World Cup has generated a lot of controversies with the public divided on whether he should be selected or not.

“There’s one more week to the end of the transfer window in Ghana. He could sign for a Premier League club in Ghana and he has about two months to show [his capabilities],” Randy Abbey said on Metro TV.

“If he were to seek my advice, I will tell him to sign up for one of the premier teams. There’s still one more week to go for registration and use that period to prove that you can play.

“He plays a lot of tennis these days and it’s good. For the Asamoah I know, it is his mind. If he is determined to make the shape, his knee is okay…he should be fine but it is up to him,” he concluded

Ghana have been paired with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in group H of the tournament.
