The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed plans to make changes to the Black Stars technical team, according to the association’s Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum.
This move forms part of the GFA’s broader strategy to augment the senior national team’s backroom staff under head coach Otto Addo.
Asante Twum revealed that enhancing the technical team was a key agenda item during the GFA Executive Council’s meeting last year.
“After the last meeting where Otto [Addo] presented his report to the Council, there were loads of considerations, discussions, analyses,” he told JoySports.
“They looked at the all the departments, the technical team, backroom staff and other service providers. At the end of the day, there was the need to make some changes.”
It is understood that a Belgian and a Serbian are in talks with the FA ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The two coaches are expected to replace assistant trainers John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann.
The Black Stars return to action in March against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
