GFA approves FC Samartex’s female team to participate in the Women’s Division One League

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has given the green light to FC Samartex’s female team, allowing them to make history by participating in the highly anticipated Women’s Division One League.

This momentous decision marks a significant step forward for women’s football in the country and sets a precedent for increased opportunities and recognition for female footballers.

In a short press release posted on FC Samartex’s social media platforms, the Timber merchants also said their junior sides have been approved to participate in regional competitions.

“The Ghana Football Association have approved FC Samartex 1996 Ladies to participate in the Western Region Women’s Division One League.

Again, FC Samartex 1996 U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-20 have been approved to participate in Wassa Amenfi West Municipal Juvenile League/ Western Regional Division II League.

The Board and Management are working assiduously to ensure that our teams compete well in the competitions,”

FC Samartex finished in 10th place with 46 points in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.
