Watch: Arsenal-linked Jesus bags solo special as Neymar closes on Pele’s all-time record in Brazil rout

The Brazilian national team made short work of South Korea in a friendly outing on Thursday, giving rise to a number of noteworthy talking points.

First up came the latest stellar exploits of star man Neymar.

Paris Saint-Germain standout Neymar, as expected, was afforded a start by Brazil boss Tite, lining out on the left of a front-three also featuring the talents of Leeds United star Raphinha, and Everton’s Richarlison.

And Neymar went on to prove the star of the show, bagging a brace of penalties to guide his country to an ultimately comfortable 5-1 triumph.

Not only that, but, in the process, the Selecao’s long-time wide-man continued to work his way towards Selecao history, and the nation’s all-time goalscoring benchmark.

The only player in the storied history of Brazilian football to have found the net on more occasions than Neymar remains Pele (77).

On the back of his latest double, though, the former has closed to within four goals of his iconic compatriot, no doubt confident in his chances of breaking Pele’s long-standing record by the time the year is out.

Elsewhere in Brazil’s latest impressive showing, the aforementioned Richarlison was too on target, as was Philippe Coutinho, fresh off putting pen to paper on a permanent deal with Aston Villa.

The best was saved for last, though, as Gabriel Jesus, amidst ongoing links with Arsenal, rounded out the scoring in Seoul courtesy of a wonderful solo effort.

After being picked out on the right flank, the Manchester City star cut inside, skipping beyond a pair of defenders, before dancing past a third in the South Korea penalty area, and picking out the far corner by means of a pinpoint left-footed strike:
