G3X have won the 2026 Kings League Club World Cup in Milan, becoming the first team from outside Spain to claim the title and giving Brazil its first triumph in the competition.
The Brazilian side beat Italian league champions Alpak FC 9-5 in the final at a sold-out Kings League Arena, bringing to an end Spain’s control of the tournament after its clubs had won the previous two editions.
The competition concluded after a week of high-profile action in the Italian city, with 16 teams representing Kings League competitions from around the world. G3X’s victory also completed a long-awaited breakthrough for the club, who had reached the final in 2024 before falling short.
Their success was accompanied by a notable showing from the Middle East and North Africa, with DR7 and FWZ both recording important victories before exiting in the knockout stages.
DR7, led by Saudi content creator Mufarrh Asiri, known as “Drb7h”, produced one of the tournament’s standout results by defeating defending champions Los Troncos FC in the opening match.
FWZ, captained by Kuwaiti content creator Fawaz Al-Shammari, then secured a historic win over Porcinos FC. The Spanish club had been regarded as one of the leading contenders for the trophy, but were eliminated by FWZ.
Those results underlined the progress being made by Kings League teams in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as their growing ability to compete with some of the strongest clubs in the global competition. Both DR7 and FWZ were eventually knocked out during the subsequent elimination rounds.
The final week attracted a number of prominent figures from sport and the media. Among those attending were Kings League founder Gerard Pique, competition committee president Claudio Marchisio, Inter Milan goalkeeper Josep Martinez, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Brazilian former international Douglas Costa and businessman and media personality Joe Bastianich.
Pique said the participation of teams from the Middle East and North Africa had been one of the tournament’s highlights. He praised the performances of DR7, led by Mufarrh Asiri “Drb7h”, and FWZ, led by Fawaz Al-Shammari, saying their campaigns reflected the rapid development of Kings League in the region and its ability to challenge the world’s leading sides.
The tournament attracted strong interest from Arab supporters, both among fans in Milan and through digital platforms. That growing popularity has increased anticipation for the first full season of Kings League Middle East and North Africa, which is scheduled to take place in Riyadh from 18 September to 30 October.
Ten teams are expected to take part in the season, with organisers anticipating substantial support as the competition continues its rapid expansion across the region. Fans are now looking ahead to the Riyadh campaign after the prominent Arab involvement provided by Drb7h and Fawaz at the Club World Cup.
Kings League was founded by former Spain and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and has developed into a modern sports and entertainment model designed to appeal to a younger generation.
The competition combines high-level football with digital entertainment. Matches are played with seven players per side and feature innovative rules influenced by livestreaming culture and video games, creating a more interactive experience for supporters.
Teams are led by a mixture of content creators, influencers and football stars, combining sporting competition with digital media and an emphasis on audience engagement.
Since launching in Spain in 2023, Kings League has expanded into a global structure featuring competitions in Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, the Middle East and North Africa, Mexico and Spain. It has also introduced the women’s Queens League and stages two world tournaments each year: the Club World Cup and the World Cup for national teams.
