Friend of Yves Bissouma appears to confirm Tottenham switch

A friend of Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma appears to have confirmed the Premier League star has made the switch to Tottenham.

101 covered reports earlier on Tuesday, that claimed Tottenham are looking to sign Brighton’s Yves Bissouma for £25m.

Now, an image is doing the rounds on social media of an Instagram story from a friend of Yves Bissouma. Said image shows the midfielder holding a football in a Tottenham shirt.

The Instagram account in question also has stories from earlier today which showed a video of Bissouma with friends in a car.

Should Bissouma indeed join the Lilywhites, it would be their third signing of the summer after they secured the services of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster on free transfers.

Bissouma would also provide Tottenham with some much-needed competition in the defensive midfield role.

Currently, Antonio Conte can only call on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to fill the defensive midfield role, with the likes of Oliver Skipp and Rodrigo Bentancur currently being deployed in more of a no.8 birth.

Bissouma is also a lot more athletic and quicker than the aforementioned Hojbjerg, who would have no doubt had a very hard time staying fit during 2022/23 now Spurs are set to play Champions League football.

Once Bissouma is signed, it is expected Spurs will turn their attention towards a forward and a centre-back or two.
