Accra-based side Hearts of Oak are dealing with another off-field challenge after a former player’s representatives escalated a payment issue to FIFA.
The complaint concerns ex-defender Michael Awuah Mensah, whose agency has accused the club of failing to honour agreed financial obligations.
Reports indicate that the amount in contention stands at GH¢58,000.
The sum reportedly includes outstanding salaries, compensation, and the unpaid portion of Mensah’s signing-on fee.
The player’s contract with Hearts was brought to an end by mutual consent in August 2025 after he fell out of the club’s plans.
This latest petition adds to a growing list of financial troubles for the Phobians in recent seasons.
Hearts of Oak previously received a $150,000 fine following the termination of former technical director Rene Hiddink, a ruling that also led to a transfer ban.
The club has also been forced to settle past claims involving Francis Adjetey and Gladson Awako to avoid further sanctions.
