Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has showered praise on Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante, calling him a “talented” player whose success is built on relentless effort.
The 26-year-old striker has been in scintillating form, netting five goals in his last three games, including a brace in the 3-1 win over Portsmouth that strengthened Coventry’s position at the top of the Championship table.
“All credit to him because he works so hard,” Lampard said after the game.
“You move him around and nothing changes – he’s effective in the 10, on the sides, up front, his pressing is great. You can see his talent. He needs to keep going with that.”
Thomas-Asante’s consistency has been a key factor in Coventry’s strong start.
With eight goals and three assists this season, he’s become the first Ghanaian since Patrick Agyemang in 2017 to score seven or more goals within the opening 11 Championship fixtures.
