Four Ghanaian football administrators have successfully finished a two-day West African Football Union (WAFU Zone B) workshop for General Coordinators in Porto-Novo, Benin.
James Essilfie, Enoch Agyare Addo, Caroline Anyanful and Clara Baidoo represented Ghana at the training programme.
They joined 33 officials from the seven WAFU Zone B member associations, as well as invited participants from other regional zones.
The workshop, which ended on Friday, February 27, 2026, focused on strengthening match coordination and competition management across the sub-region.
It was designed to equip newly appointed General Coordinators with the technical and operational skills required to manage tournaments effectively.
Participants received in-depth training on matchday organisation, stakeholder management, and the Competitions Management System.
Sessions also covered crisis response strategies and the core responsibilities of a General Coordinator.
A practical exercise was held at the technical centre of the Beninese Football Association, allowing participants to apply what they had learned.
The initiative forms part of WAFU Zone B’s broader effort to improve football administration standards within the region.
The newly trained officials are expected to support upcoming regional and continental competitions.
They are also tasked with strengthening administrative systems within their respective domestic leagues.
