Former Sports Minister calls for GFA Executives to resign over Black Stars’ AFCON failure

Former Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has called for the resignation of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) executives, stating that they are the primary obstacle hindering the progress of Ghanaian football.

Vanderpuye’s comments come after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations for the first time in 20 years.

After six games, the team recorded three draws and three defeats, finishing at the bottom of Group F

Speaking in an interview with Pure FM, Nii Lantey disagreed with calls blaming Addo for the Black Stars’ woes and instead called for the resignation of the executive members of the FA.

“The GFA keeps on shifting the blame to the Black Stars coaches and hence keeps on sacking and appointing new coaches, yet the value is the same,” .” he told Pure FM

“The GFA people should resign from their posts because they are the main problem.

Meanwhile, Otto Addo’s future is yet to be decided by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
