Former England and QPR star Stan Bowles passes away at the age of 85

Former Queens Park Rangers and England forward Stan Bowles has passed away at the age of 75.

The sad news was shared by Bowles’ daughter Tracey on his official Facebook page, where she expressed her sorrow over her father’s peaceful passing while surrounded by family.

She wrote: “Sad to be writing this but dad has passed away. He was with all the family and went peacefully. God bless you Stanley.”

QPR also released a statement mourning the loss of Bowles, who had been battling Alzheimer’s disease since 2015.

Bowles, who earned 5 caps for the England national team, enjoyed a distinguished 17-year career in professional football, competing at the highest levels of English football.

His most memorable stint was at QPR, where he spent seven years and made 315 appearances, scoring 97 goals. He played a pivotal role in the club’s promotion in his debut season and became an iconic figure in their history.

Throughout his career, Bowles also represented several other clubs, including Manchester City, Bury, Crewe Alexandra, Carlisle United, Nottingham Forest, Leyton Orient, and Brentford.

His impact on and off the field will be fondly remembered by football fans across the nation. Bowles’ talent, charisma, and contribution to the sport will leave a lasting legacy in English football.
